This is Kan - the duck, the inspo and icon behind my ceramics business. And he was a total oops baby.

Kan was created out of a hard season: new city, old reckonings, and life feeling heavier than it should. I was trying to control everything, to force progress, to feel okay again.... and failing every day.

Kan happened when I stopped forcing.

I stepped away from the wheel, slowed down, and just… played. No expectations, no plan. And somehow, there he was: a small blank-faced duck, that got accidentally fired in an orange bowl that became his forever nest.

Kan is a reminder of that shift: letting go, embracing the unknown, finding joy in hard and unpredictable times.

He helped me feel light again, and is a direct representation of who I was and who I am: Someone who is a little unsure, always a little bit in fight or flight, but still here, and still trying his best.
